SILVER SPRING - A teen-age son of Abebe Belew, Addis Dimts Radio host and human rights activist, suffered serious injuries after a van hit him, a TV reported on Friday. Abebe Belew said his son suffered multiple injuries, including head injury, bruised lungs, a broken leg and internal bleeding. "His life is saved," said Abebe, "but I don't know what's next." Abebe said he was very grateful to the many friends who called and comforted him on a very tough day. Abebe hosts successful weekly radio programs that are admired by a huge audience in Washington, DC and surrounding areas.
